Find out what we’re already doing – and what we plan to do – in the area of sustainability. Because we, too, want to keep working on this.
Kaffee Partner’s fully automatic coffee machines are made from high-quality materials with a high recycling rate. This high quality ensures the machines are particularly durable.
As coffee and drinks are metered by the cup, each coffee is prepared to suit individual needs. This significantly reduces the amount of coffee that is brewed but not consumed. Furthermore, we produce far less waste by using whole beans instead of capsules.
Most of our fully automatic coffee machines feature an energy-saving mode that can be activated to put the machines into a power-saving state when not in use.
The water dispensers from our subsidiary, welltec, are connected to the mains water supply, which saves a considerable amount of resources. There is no longer any need to buy crates of water, and a large proportion of glass and plastic waste is eliminated. Furthermore, a significant amount of CO₂ is saved as there is no need to transport the crates.
Above all, our water dispensers supply water that is hygienically impeccable. Whilst our drinking water is subject to strict quality requirements, we also use a three-stage filtration system to remove any germs and bacteria. This forms the basis for the highest standards of hygiene.
The majority of our fully automatic coffee machines are connected via telemetry. Thanks to this technology, data from the machine – such as the number of cups of coffee or the consumption of milk powder and cocoa – is transmitted digitally to our head office in Osnabrück. This data helps us to produce bills that are accurate down to the cup, as well as to organise automatic reordering and restocking. This saves you a considerable amount of time and effort. Furthermore, in 80 per cent of cases, the information transmitted enables us to resolve issues via remote maintenance. This reduces the need for on-site visits to a minimum, thereby eliminating the need for numerous car journeys. Where visits to our customers are unavoidable, our staff can prepare for them optimally in advance thanks to the data collected.
None of our fully automatic coffee machines require capsules to prepare speciality coffees, which significantly reduces waste. It is the whole beans, freshly ground at the touch of a button, that are responsible for the unique flavour. Many of our coffee varieties carry a ‘Fairtrade’ label, the Fairtrade, EU Organic or Rainforest Alliance seal. This means that coffee farms in the producing countries benefit from every cup of coffee you drink.
We place great importance on maintaining an ongoing dialogue with our customers in order to continuously improve our products and our operations. In response to customer requests, we have further developed our fully automatic coffee machines so that, in addition to fresh milk, they can be fitted with a second container for plant-based milk alternatives (such as oat or soya milk). This is an important step towards meeting everyone’s taste and dietary needs.
In our accessories shop, too, we are responding to the growing demand for sustainability: you will now find a wider range of reusable cups and wooden stirrers there as environmentally friendly alternatives to plastic.
In 2025, we were once again awarded the EcoZert sustainability certificate. The certificate confirms that we focus on environmental, economic and social aspects and ensure transparency regarding our sustainability measures. Our environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices were scrutinised by independent bodies. We wish to emphasise that we continue to take responsible action in these areas seriously and regard them as core aspects of our business.
We define sustainability as the responsible use of our planet’s finite resources, so that they remain available to future generations. The acronym ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) has become established in the business world as the standard for assessing sustainability efforts. Our sustainability policy sets out the relevance of ESG to our business activities. At the same time, it documents our commitment to continuously advancing and improving our approach to this issue.
Unlike companies where broken machines end up straight in the bin, we refurbish such machines in our workshop – the key word here is ‘refurbishing’. These machines, now fully functional again, are, amongst other things, hired out to customers at reduced rates or made available to staff if they can no longer be hired out. To minimise plastic waste, we use recyclable bubble wrap when dispatching goods.
We encourage all our staff to live sustainably and support them in this endeavour in a variety of ways. For example, the company offers to subsidise a ‘Jobrad’ so that staff can leave their cars at home and cycle to work – provided the distance allows it. As part of this, we also subsidise season tickets for local public transport.
Our documents can be signed digitally, easily and securely, using DocuSign, regardless of time or place. By adopting digital contract signing, we have taken a major step towards digitalisation, security and sustainability. By eliminating paper production and printing, removing the need for postal delivery and enabling email signatures, we are not only conserving resources but also reducing CO₂ emissions by around 1.5 to 2.0 tonnes per year and saving just under 20,000 litres of water.
