Why does a fully automatic coffee machine need a large water reservoir?

A large water reservoir on a bean to cup coffee machine has several advantages. The most obvious one is that you can brew more coffee without having to keep refilling the tank. This is particularly useful if you don’t have a mains water connection but still want to make plenty of coffee.

A water tank also means you can place your fully automatic coffee machine wherever suits you best. You aren’t tied to a water supply, so you’re free to choose where to position your machine. This means it can serve as a centrepiece rather than being hidden away in a kitchen cupboard.

How the water reservoir works on a bean to cup coffee machine

Water tank module:
The water tank module contains two 3.5-litre water reservoirs. They are arranged one above the other and draw water from both tanks simultaneously. The module is positioned to the left of the fully automatic coffee machine and blends in perfectly with the overall design.

Water tank system:
Unlike the module, our water tank system is located in the cupboard beneath the fully automatic coffee machine. It is therefore not visible. With this option, a hole must be drilled through the base cabinet so that the hoses from the pump system can be routed through it.
