What is an industry-specific coffee machine?
Industrial coffee machines differ fundamentally from coffee machines for private use. While you usually only need to brew a relatively small amount of coffee at home, industrial and catering establishments require filter machines or coffee vending machines that can produce large quantities of coffee. There are two main types of industrial coffee machine:
Fully automated coffee machine
Professional machines can prepare over 350 cups of coffee per day. Thanks to the jug function of various fully automatic machines, large quantities of coffee can be made quickly. Matching thermoses ensure that the coffee stays warm for a long time.
High-volume coffee brewer
A quantity boiler is mainly used for larger conferences, in hotel breakfast rooms or in meeting rooms in offices.
How much does an industrial coffee machine cost?
The cost of an industrial coffee machine depends on whether you need a filter coffee machine or a high-performance coffee vending machine. A filter coffee machine is technically less complex, prepares only filter coffee and is therefore much cheaper – it is often used as a supplement to a fully automatic machine when large quantities are required. A commercial coffee vending machine is more expensive, but offers more functions and can produce over 350 cups of various coffee specialities per day. Many companies therefore opt for leasing a coffee vending machine to avoid high initial costs and cover servicing, maintenance and repairs with a monthly fee. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a fixed cost estimate, as this depends on individual needs and professional advice.
How much coffee can an industrial coffee machine make?
Industrial coffee machines can produce several litres of filter coffee or over 350 cups of different coffee specialities per day, depending on the model. Our filter coffee machine is ideal for making large quantities of filter coffee, for example in meeting rooms or canteens, and can produce 2.2 litres in a short amount of time. The BARISTA Duro coffee vending machine can make up to 250 cups of coffee, as well as hot chocolate and tea. Which capacity is suitable depends on the daily consumption and the number of users.
The coffee containers are too small. Are there any larger ones?
The BARISTA Velluto comes with a 0.8 kg coffee bean container as standard. However, you can opt for an XL coffee bean container to increase the capacity to 1.4 kg. Our BARISTA Duro has an even greater capacity of 2.1 kg for coffee beans and 3.3 kg for cocoa, which can also be increased. Please feel free to contact us for advice.
How long does an industrial coffee machine last?
Industrial coffee machines usually last many years, depending on how often they are used, how they are cared for, and their technical design. Batch brewers usually have a particularly robust, simple technology and therefore often have a very long lifespan – especially with regular cleaning. Powerful coffee vending machines like our BARISTA Duro require more maintenance due to their more complex components, but function reliably in the long term with professional servicing. After each rental period, each device is thoroughly overhauled and can then reliably prepare coffee for up to 15 years. The actual durability depends on the daily throughput, a structured cleaning plan and regular maintenance.
