What exactly is telemetry?

The word ‘telemetry’ comes from Ancient Greek and roughly translates as ‘remote measurement’. This modern technology is used for the remote control and maintenance of electronic devices. The majority of our Kaffee Partner fully automatic coffee machines are also equipped with a telemetry module. These allow data to be analysed remotely, fill levels to be checked, consumption statistics and forecasts to be generated, individual blend ratios to be adjusted, faults to be rectified and much more. Here’s how it works:

Using telemetry, we are able to connect our customers’ various coffee machines directly to our head office in Osnabrück. This enables our specialist staff to access up-to-date data or adjust settings at any time. The telemetry system in Kaffee Partner coffee machines communicates simply via Wi-Fi or the mobile network.

1. Remote maintenance settings
   Whether it’s fault diagnosis or adjusting the blend ratio for speciality coffees, settings can be quickly adjusted remotely using the telemetry module. For any issues that cannot be resolved via telemetry, we will send a technician straight away. Based on the telemetry data, they will know exactly which faults to rectify on site and which spare parts are required.
2. Tracking beverage consumption
   Another benefit of telemetry is the ability to collect consumption statistics. Our specialist staff can tell you when and how much coffee and other drinks have been consumed. This enables billing to be carried out down to the last cup.
3. Coffee Subscription Plus
   Every morning, your consumption of coffee, cocoa and other products is automatically compared with your last order. Based on these consumption statistics, you can work out whether you have enough of the products in stock. If coffee beans or other products are running low, we will top them up promptly and automatically. This ensures you always have a sufficient supply of products for your fully automatic coffee machine.

A coffee machine with telemetry therefore offers numerous advantages that make the hectic daily routine in the office a little less stressful – at least when it comes to coffee – leaving more time to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee.
